Troubleshooting RapidSketch Issues

Problem:
You received the following error after RapidSketch attempts to do an automatic update.
UpdaterV3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
or
UpdaterV3.exe has stopped working
In Windows XP the message may look like this:

Solution:
This is a problem with one of the RapidSketch files (The Updater Application). The easiest solution is to re-download and install RapidSketch. You can download RapidSketch from this link. If you have a slow internet connection and downloading RapidSketch is a problem. You may contact RapidSketch support and we will send you a smaller hot fix for this problem.
Problem:
You received the following error after launching RapidSketch (usually on a Tablet PC).
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Ink, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the specified file.
In Windows XP the error may look like this:

Solution:
You may have an older or incompatible Inking Dll. You can download the one that is required by RapidSketch by clicking here. This file should be saved into the folder where RapidSketch is installed. This is usually:
C:\Program Files\RapidSketch\
Problem:
You received the following error after launching RapidSketch (usually on a Tablet PC).
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Ink, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the specified file. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)
In Windows XP the error may look like this:

Solution:
You may have an older or incompatible Inking Dll. You can download the one that is required by RapidSketch by clicking here. This file should be saved into the folder where RapidSketch is installed. This is usually:
C:\Program Files\RapidSketch\
Problem:
You received the following error after updating or launching RapidSketch.
Unable to cast object of type 'System.Runtime.Serialization.TypeLoadExceptionHolder' to type 'RapidSketch.SketchObject'.
Solution:
This error likely has to do with a corrupt symbol created in a prior version of RapidSketch. RapidSketch Support has a tool that we can use to remove the corrupt symbol. Please contact the RapidSketch Support using this at support@rapidsketch.com or call our toll free line listed here. We should be able to fix this right away.
Problem:
RapidSketch will launch on its own (from the Start Menu) but will not launch from your integrated software package.
or
You received the following error you try to open a sketch in version 2.5.
Error opening file (THE NAME OF YOUR FILE HERE)
Details: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
Solution:
There is a hotfix available for this problem. Download this file and save it in your RapidSketch directory. This is usually located in c:\Program Files\RapidSketch\. You can overwrite the existing file with the same name.
Problem:
While drawing you recieve an error that there is a file sharing problem with either a file called SnapPrecision or AngleSnap.

Solution:
This problem only occurs with certain backup utilities that try to backup RapidSketch files while RapidSketch is using them. The only known utility to currently cause this conflict is Memeo. There is a hotfix available for this problem. Download this file and save it in your RapidSketch directory. This is usually located in c:\Program Files\RapidSketch\. You can overwrite the existing file with the same name.
